Royal Liver Friendly Society has no shareholders, exists solely for the benefit of its members; the Royal Liver Group today manages over 5 million policies.  The Royal Liver Insurance Company offers in the protection marketplace RoyalLiver Life cover, decreasing (mortgage protection) or level term assurance, Life with Critical Illness, Children's Critical Illness, Income Protection and Un-Employment cover through their comprehensive menu cover. This operates through brokers via their Progress brand operation based in Basingstoke. In spring 2007, Royal London Mutual Insurance who own Bright Grey brand started talks over a possible merger with RoyalLiver.
