NATWEST LIFE INSURANCE The National Westminster Bank, part of Royal Bank of Scotland Group was established in the 1800's. In 2000 the bank reportedly transferred National Westminster Life Assurance Limited to RBS Life Investments Limited, effectively establishing the business as a joint venture with Norwich Union.  Nat West Life Insurance [from their Bristol offices] was set up to help provide life insurance for their personal & business customers via their branch network. Today Nat West life assurance - RBS Life Insurance policy plans are via Royal Scottish Assurance which in early 2000 was a joint venture with Scottish Equitable. Products include over 50's lifecover, Life insurance cover, decreasing (mortgage protection) or level term assurance, Life with Critical Illness, Income Protection and Un-Employment cover.
