METLIFE INSURANCE COMPANY
The origins of Metropolitan Life Insurance Company (MetLife) go back to 1863. The MetLife companies enjoy a strong reputation for service and reliability in the global insurance industry. MetLifeInsurance is the trading name of MetLife Europe Limited, an affiliate of the global financial organisation MetLife, Inc.
Metlife's slogan is "For the IF in Life" ie; something may happen to you - which can often be seen on an airship blimp giving aerial television coverage for an array of sporting, news, and special events from the USA. MetLife announced in 2002 that it would also be continuing its long-standing relationship with Snoopy and the rest of the PEANUTS® characters for the next 10 years.
In the UK, MetLife Insurance used to own Albany Life which it sold its uk operation in the mid 1990's to rival Canada Life. Now it works solely with Financial Advisers to help deliver protection, retirement and long-term savings solutions. Services are delivered from MetLife Europe Limited's UK offices in London and Salisbury. In 2010 Metlife purchased the foreign life insurance arm of AIG, Alico Uk. In 2011 Alico Uk agreed to transfer various product lines to Windsor Life.
At present Met Life in the Uk offer a broad range of protection products and services including Life cover, decreasing (mortgage protection) or level term assurance, Life with Critical Illness, Income Protection and Accident, Sickness & Un-Employment cover.
