J ROTHSCHILD ASSURANCE
J Rothschild Assurance Group & J Rothschild Capital Management was established in 1991, by Sir Mark Weinberg [ex-management with Abbey Life, Hambro Life & Allied Dunbar] and Lord Rothschild. In 1997, the J. Rothschild Assurance Group effectively achieved a reverse takeover of St. James's Place Capital, thereby securing a public listing on the Stock Exchange after just five years of trading.
In 2000 HBOS Halifax Bank of Scotland, took a 60% shareholding in St. James Place. With effect from 2006, St. James's Place Capital was renamed St.James's Place plc. This was due to the fact that the Board had disposed of all its non-core investments, so they felt it was appropriate to remove the word 'Capital' from the company name.
The St. James's Place Group today offers a wide range of high quality wealth management services to businesses and individuals. With reportedly over 400,000 clients and over £18 billion funds under management, they are well established as one of the UK's leading wealth management organisations. Advice from the St.James's Place Group is provided by the St. James's Place Partnership advisers.
Whereas originally J. Rothschild Assurance just sold its own product range, in 2008 St. James's Place now looks also toward a small multi-tie panel product capability across the Uk. J. Rothschild Assurance Insurance Uk product range included guaranteed & reviewable Life cover, decreasing (mortgage protection) or level term assurance, Life with Critical Illness and Income Protection.
