In 2007, the proposed merger of Friend Provident Uk & Resolution was formally announced to create Friends Financial Group plc - a new company in the Life Insurance Providers and Asset Management industries. The merger however never went ahead as the Pearl Group merged with them instead in 2008. In 2009 talks were re-opened again & were finally agreed subject to regulatory agreement.
