CORNHILL DIRECT LIFE INSURANCE  Cornhill Insurance traces its origins back to 1905. In 1994 they launched Cornhill Direct. In 2003 Cornhill Insurance changes its name to Allianz Cornhill Insurance plc & then in 2007 to just Allianz. However, by then Cornhill Life Insurance had already closed its sales force division operating via Cornhill Direct only & then finally closed to new business due to changes in the economic marketplace. In 2005 the Britannic Group announced a new strategy - to become the owner and administrator of closed life funds. They acquired the Life Operations of Allianz Cornhill (Cornhill) in 2004. An exercise then took place to transfer Cornhill policyholders in 2005.  Resolution Life Group Limited then merged with Britannic Group plc to form Resolution plc. Subsequently Resolution integrated the former Royal & SunAlliance UK life business & Swiss Life (UK) plc also into one group called Phoenix Life Group (Phoenix). In 2008 Cornhill Direct Life Insurance plans continue to help meet the needs and circumstances of its existing policyholders only & you can still make certain changes to an existing plan via Phoenix help team or talk to your financial adviser.
